My brother Tim and I fished at Red Willow Reservoir today. We caught walleyes, crappies, channel catfish, a nice wiper, and a Master Angler flathead catfish. They were caught around main lake points, underwater humps, and edges of the creek channel in depths of 15 feet or less. We were using ProMinnow Swimbaits, 5 inch Flutter Spoon, crankbait, shiners, and a Reelbait Flasher Jig with Berkley Gulp! Minnow Grubs. The surface water temperature was in the 70s.
I guided a father and his son on Swanson Reservoir. We caught good numbers of wipers, white bass, walleye, and largemouth bass. We caught them on Carolina Rigs using shiners, crankbaits, swimbaits, Lytle’s Secret Tail Spinner, and a 5 inch Flutter spoon. They were caught around points, underwater road beds, edges of flats next to river channel, underwater humps, islands, edges of willow trees, and near the dam areas in depth of 20 feet or less. The surface water temperature is in the 70s.
I guided Brian Rae (Owner of Elwood Reservoir Resort and Campground) and his accountant on Elwood Reservoir. We caught walleyes, wipers, white bass, largemouth bass, and a crappie. We caught them on suspending jerkbaits, 3 and 5 inch ProMinnow Swimbaits, and deep diver crankbaits around main lake points, edges of trees, and weed beds.
I took a Outdoor Writer Mike Gnatkowski and his friend fishing at Swanson Reservoir. We caught good numbers of wipers, white bass, walleye, crappies, and largemouth bass. They were caught around underwater road beds, flats next to the edges of river channel, islands, edges of willow trees, and near the dam areas in depth of 24 feet or less. We caught these fish on Lytle’s Secret Tail Spinners, Crankbaits, ProMinnow Swimbaits, and 5 inch Flutter Spoon. The surface water temperature is averaging in the lower 70s.
