NOVEMBER-DECEMBER 2009

November 5, 6

I took a friend fishing at Red Willow Reservoir both days. We caught five Master Angler fish including four wipers at 30 ¼ inches, two at 28 inches, and one at 27-inches, plus a 32-inch channel catfish. We caught these fish on Lytle's Secret Tail Spinners, 4- and 5-inch Flutter Spoons, homemade 1-oz. jigging spoons, ¾-oz. Silver Buddy Bladebait, and a ProMinnow Swimbait on a ½-oz. jig head around underwater humps and deep points next to the creek channel in depths of 28 feet or less. The surface water temperature is averaging around 48 degrees.

November 1-3

I fished at three different private sand pit lakes in the afternoon. I caught a Master Angler crappie at 15 inches, plus good numbers of smaller crappies between 8 and 14 inches, largemouth bass up to 17 inches, yellow perch up to 12 inches, and a few bluegill up to 8 inches. I caught these fish on a 1/16-oz. Marabou jig, 2-inch Berkley Gulp! Minnow on a jig head, and a ¾-oz. Silver Buddy Bladebait around deep points, underwater brush piles, and edges of deep weed beds in depths of 25 feet or less.
