APRIL 2008

April 30, May 1

I guided the same clients both days at Red Willow Reservoir, and we caught three Master Angler wipers. The largest was a 30 inches long and weighted a little over 17 pounds. We also caught 28-incher at 13.50 pounds, and a 26-incher near 10 pounds. We caught good numbers of smaller wipers between 13 and 23 inches, northern pike up to 28 inches, white bass up to 12 inches, and a few smallmouth and largemouth bass up to 16 inches. We caught these fish on Lytle's Secret Tail Spinners, suspending jerkbaits and lipless crankbaits around main lake points, edges of creek channels, flats next to deep water, along the dam areas, mouths of coves and back in coves. The surface water temperature is averaging in the mid to upper 50s, and the water clarity is very clear.
