February 17-18
My brother Tim and I fished at Red Willow Reservoir. We caught good
numbers of crappies up to 13 inches, a few small northern pike,
bluegills, and walleyes along the creek channel that swings next to
shore, and a point near the mouth of a cove in depths of 32 feet or
less. We caught fish on a 1/8-ounce Lytle’ Secret and homemade
spoons.
February 11
My brother Tim and I went ice fishing at a private sandpit lake for
a few hours. We caught largemouth bass between 12 and 18 inches, and
crappies between 10 and 14 inches next to a long point near deep
water in depths of 14 to 24 feet. We were using a ¼-ounce Lytle’s
Secret, and my brother caught fish on a homemade spoon. The ice on
this sandpit lake was averaging around 12 inches thick.
February 10
I went to Swanson Reservoir to meet two clients from Colorado and
take them ice fishing. We caught walleyes, wipers, and channel
catfish along the underwater dikes next to the river channel near
the dam area in depths of 21 to 28 feet. We caught them on a Lytle’s
Secret, jigging spoons and jigging Rapalas. The ice is averaging
around 20 inches thick.
February 9
I went ice fishing at Red Willow Reservoir in the afternoon for a
few hours. I caught white bass along the creek channel that swings
next to an underwater island, and next to a mouth of a cove in depth
of 28 to 36 feet on a ¼-ounce Lytle’s Secret. My friend caught a few
crappies and a 32-inch northern pike around underwater brush piles
where the creek channels swing next to the shore. He was using my
brother's homemade jigging spoon. The ice is around 18 inches thick.
January 24, 25 and February 1, 4
I took my brother Tim and a friend ice fishing at Swanson Reservoir.
We are still catching walleyes, wipers, white bass, and channel
catfish along the underwater dikes next to the dam area in depths of
22 to 26 feet on 1/8-, 1/4-, 3/8-, and 1-ounce Lytle's Secret
tailspinners. My brother and my friend also caught fish on spoons.
On February 3, my brother Tim and I went ice fishing at Red Willow
Reservoir. We caught crappies and white bass along the creek channel
that swings next to an underwater island in depths of 28 to 36 feet
on a Lytle's Secret. My brother caught his fish on a homemade
spoons. The ice is averaging over 15 inches thick.
January 17-19
I took some of my friends ice fishing in the afternoon at Swanson
reservoir. We caught walleyes between 13 and 29 inches, wipers
between 17 and 23 inches, white bass between 10 and 15 inches, and a
14-inch crappie. We caught these fish around an underwater dike next
to the river channel near the dam area in depths of 21 to 26 feet on
a 1/4- and 3/4-ounce Lytle's Secret. My friends also caught fish on
spoons. The ice is averaging around 12 inches thick.

January 9-11
A friend and I went ice fishing at Swanson Reservoir in the
afternoon. We caught three Master Angler fish including 30- and a
26.50-inch wipers, plus a nice 29-inch walleye. We also caught good
numbers of smaller walleyes between 14 and 22 inches, wipers between
17 and 23 inches, and white bass between 10 and 15 inches. We caught
these fish on the 1/4-, 3/4-, and 1-ounce Lytle's Secret tailspinner
around an underwater dike next to the river channel near the dam
area in depths of 21 to 28 feet. The ice is averaging around 10
inches thick.

January 6-7
My brother and I went ice fishing both days at Swanson Reservoir in
the afternoon. We caught good numbers of walleyes between 14 and 17
inches, wipers between 17 and 23 inches including a Master Angler
wiper at 24.50 inches, and white bass between 11 and 15 inches.
These fish were caught around an underwater dike next to the river
channel near the dam area in depths of 20 to 28 feet. I caught them
using a 1/4-, 3/4-, and 1-ounce prototype Lytle's Secret Jigging
Spoon, and my brother was using a small 1/8-ounce jigging spoon. The
ice thickness is averaging around 9 inches.
January 3-4
A friend and I went ice fishing both days at Swanson
Reservoir in the afternoon. I caught a Master Angler 26-inch wiper,
plus my friend and I also caught and released around 30 or more
wipers between 18 and 23 inches, good numbers of white bass between
12 and 15 inches, six channel catfish between 15 and 22 inches, two
walleye with the at largest at 17 inches, and a nice 14-inch
crappie. We caught these fish on a 1/4- and 3/4-ounce Lytle's Secret
Tail Spinner, a prototype Lytle's Secret Jigging Spoon, and my
friend was using my brother Rod homemade jigging spoon. The fish
were caught around an underwater dike next to the river channel near
the dam area in depths of 22 to 28 feet. The ice thickness is
averaging around 8 inches.
