August 31

My chiropractor and I fished at his private sandpit lake in the afternoon, and I caught a nice Master Angler largemouth bass at 22 inches. We also caught good numbers of smaller largemouth bass between 10 and 19 inches using a drop shot rig with plastic baits, Texas rigged plastic worms, a chatterbait, and a 3/4-oz. Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner. The fish were caught around points, flats next to deep water, and edges of deep weed beds in depths of 25 feet or less.

August 30

I guided on Medicine Creek Reservoir (Harry Strunk Lake) and my client and I caught good numbers of wipers between 18 and 22 inches, white bass up to 15 inches, and two walleye. We caught these fish on a 3/4-, 1-, and 1.50-oz. Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner around underwater humps in depths of 32 feet or less.

August 26

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir and I caught a Master Angler channel catfish at 35 inches. My clients and I also caught smaller channel catfish, wipers up to 21 inches, white bass up to 13 inches, and two walleyes. We caught these fish around underwater humps, road beds, main lake points, and flats next to deep water in depths of 26 feet or less on a 3/4- and 1-oz. Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner, and a Carolina rig using gizzard shad and shiners. The surface water temperature is in the upper 70s.

August 24, 25

I guided on Swanson Reservoir and my client caught a nice Master Angler wiper. My clients and I also caught smaller wiper up to 23 inches, white bass up to 14 inches, freshwater drum up to 18 inches, and a small walleye. We caught these fish on a 3/4-, 1-, and 1.50-oz. Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner, and a Carolina rig using gizzard shad around underwater road beds and a hump in depths of 24 feet or less.

August 23

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir and I caught a Master Angler channel catfish at 34 inches. My clients and I also caught smaller channel catfish, wipers between up to 22 inches, white bass up to 13 inches, northern pike up to 29 inches, and a 12-inch crappie. We caught these fish on a 3/4- and 1-oz. Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner and a Carolina rig using shiners and gizzard shad. The fish were caught around main lake points, underwater humps, road beds, and flats next to deep water in depths of 22 feet or less. The surface water temperature is averaging around 80 degrees.

August 19

I guided on Swanson Reservoir and we caught four Master Angler wipers at 30, 28, 26, and 24.50 inches. My clients and I also caught good numbers of smaller wipers between 15 and 22.50 inches, and white bass up to 14 inches. These fish were caught around an underwater hump and road beds in depths of 24 feet or less using a 3/4-, 1-, and 1.50-oz. Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner, a Carolina rig using shad, and a 1-oz. jigging spoon. The surface water temperature is in the 80s.

August 18

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir and my clients and I caught wipers between 15 and 23 inches, white bass up to 13 inches, crappies up to 13 inches, channel catfish up to 20 inches, three walleyes between 16 and 18 inches, a 30-inch northern pike, and a small largemouth bass. We caught these fish using a 1/4-, 3/4-, and 1-oz. Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner, and a Carolina rig with gizzard shad and shiners. The fish were caught around main lake points, underwater humps, road beds, edges of creek channel, flats next to deep water, and back in a large cove.

August 17

I guided on Swanson Reservoir and we caught three Master Angler wipers at 28, 27, and 26 inches. My clients and I also caught good numbers smaller wipers up to 22 inches, white bass up to 14 inches, and a 16-inch walleye. We caught these fish on a 3/4- and 1-oz. Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner, and a Carolina rig using shad around an underwater island and road beds in depths of 24 feet or less The surface water temperature is in the lower 80s.

August 14

August 13

I guided on Swanson Reservoir and my clients caught three Master Angler wipers at 27.75, 27, and 26.50 inches. My clients and I also caught good numbers of smaller wipers between 15 and 23 inches, white bass up to 14 inches, and a 20-inch walleye. We caught these fish around an underwater island and road beds in depths of 24 feet or less using a 3/4- and 1-oz. Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner. My clients also caught fish on a Carolina rig using shad. The surface water temperature is in the mid 80s.

August 12

My brother Tim and I fished at Swanson Reservoir and we caught good numbers of white bass up to 14 inches, wipers up to 23 inches, and a few walleyes around an underwater hump and road beds in depths of 20 feet or less. My brother caught fish on a Carolina rig using shad, and I caught them on a 3/4- and 1-oz. Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner and a jigging spoon. The surface water temperature is in the 80s.

August 10

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir and my clients and I caught northern pike up to 32 inches, white bass up to 13 inches, small wipers, and crappies around underwater humps, main lake points, flats, and back in a deep cove using a Carolina rig with live bait (gizzard shad and shiners), and Lytle's Secret Tail Spinners in depths of 20 feet or less. The surface water temperature is in the mid 80s.

August 9

A friend and I went fishing at Medicine Creek Reservoir and caught good numbers of white bass up to 15 inches and a few small walleyes around an underwater island, and next to the dam areas using the 1/4-, 3/4-, and 1-oz. Lytle's Secret Tail Spinners.

August 8

I fished at Red Willow Reservoir and I'm still catching white bass, wipers, northern pike, crappies, and a few walleyes using the 3/4- and 1-oz. Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner around main lake points, underwater humps, road beds, edges of creek channels, flats next to deep water, and areas near the dam in depths of 22 feet or less.

August 5-6

I guided on Medicine Creek Reservoir (Harry Strunk Lake) on August 5. On August 6 we went to Red Willow Reservoir in the morning, and in the afternoon we fished at Medicine Creek. I caught a nice Master Angler walleye at Medicine Creek Reservoir at 28.25 inches. My clients and I also caught smaller walleyes, wipers up to 21 inches, white bass up to 15 inches, northern pike between 24 and 32 inches, and a few channel catfish. We caught these fish using a Lytle's Secret Tail Spinners, jigging spoons, and a Carolina rig with live bait around underwater humps, main lake points, and flats next to deep water. The surface water temperature is in the 80s.

August 4

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir and my clients and I caught three Master Angler walleye at 29.50, 28.50, and 28.25 inches. We also caught smaller walleyes, northern pike between 24 and 32 inches, white bass between 8 and 13 inches, and wipers up to 20 inches using Lytle's Secret Tail Spinners, jigging spoons, and a Carolina rig with shiners. These fish were caught around main lake points, underwater humps, under water road beds, edges of creek channels, and flats next to deep water in depths of 25 feet or less. The surface water temperature is in the 80s.

August 3

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir and my clients and I caught good numbers of white bass, a few northern pike, and a wiper around underwater humps, main lake points, flats next to deep water, edges of creek channels, and underwater road beds in depths of 24 feet or less using a Carolina rig with shiners and Lytle's Secret Tail Spinners.
