September 29

I took a friend fishing in the afternoon for a few hours at private sand pit lakes. We caught largemouth bass up to 17 inches and a few bluegills around edges of weed beds, deep points, and underwater brush piles using a chrome/blue, and glow fire tiger 3/4- and 1-ounce Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner.

September 26-28

I fished at three different private sand pit lakes in the afternoon. I caught good numbers of largemouth bass up to 18 inches, crappies up to 14 inches, a few bluegills, and a 24-inch channel catfish. I caught these fish on a 1/4-, 3/4- and 1-ounce  chrome/blue Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner around points, edges of deep weed beds, and underwater brush piles in depths of 25 feet or less.

September 25

My brother Rod and I went fishing at a private sand pit lake in the afternoon. My brother caught a nice Master Angler walleye at 29.50 inches. We also caught good numbers of largemouth bass bass between 10 and 18 inches, crappies up to 13 inches, bluegills up to 9 inches, and a few nice yellow perch. Most of these fish were caught on a 1/4- and 3/4-ounce Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner in depths of 30 feet or less around deep points, and edges of deep weed beds. The water clarity on this sand pit lake is extremely clear with a visibility of 8 feet or more.

September 23, 24

I went fishing at two different private sand pit lakes in the afternoon. I caught good numbers of largemouth bass between 10 and 18 inches, four crappies between 10 and 14 inches, and two nice yellow perch. I caught these fish on a 3/4-ounce chrome/blue Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner around deep points, edges of deep weed beds, and flats next to deep water in depths of 30 feet or less. The water clarity on these sand pit lakes is very clear with a visibility of 6 feet or more.

September 22

I guided on Enders Reservoir and my clients and I caught good numbers of wipers up to 17 inches, white bass up to 14 inches, two channel catfish, a walleye, and a small largemouth bass. They were caught on a 3/4- and 1-ounce Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner, a Carolina rig using gizzard shad, and Berkley Gulp! 3-inch Minnow Grub around main lake points, flats next to deep water, and underwater humps in depths of 20 feet or less. The surface water temperature is in the lower 60s.

September 16

I guided on Swanson Reservoir for a few hours in the morning and at Enders Reservoir in the afternoon. We caught good numbers of white bass up to 13 inches,  wipers up to 16 inches, a smallmouth bass, and a small walleye. We caught these fish using a 3/4- and 1-ounce Lytle’s Secret Tail Spinner around underwater humps, main lake points, and along the dam areas. The surface water temperature is averaging around 70 degrees.

September 15

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir in the morning and at Swanson Reservoir in the afternoon. We caught white bass and wipers using a 3/4- and 1-ounce Lytle’s Secret Tail Spinner around an island, an underwater road bed, and points. The surface water temperature was in the upper 60s in the morning and the lower 70s by mid afternoon. The  water clarity at Red Willow Reservoir is three inches or less, and about 18 inches at Swanson.

September 10

My brother Tim and I went fishing at three different private sand pit lakes in the afternoon. We caught good numbers of largemouth bass up to 19 inches, crappies up to 14 inches, and a few nice bluegills up to 9 inches. We caught these fish on a 1/4- and 3/4-ounce Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner, a Chatterbait, and a Reelbait Flasher Jig with a 3-inch Shad Assassin and Berkley Powerbait 3- inch minnow. They were caught along the edges of deep weed beds next to points and deep flats.

September 8

I took my friend fishing at Swanson Reservoir. We caught good numbers of wipers between 16 and 20 inches, and white bass between 10 and 14 inches using a 1/4-, 3/4-, and 1-ounce Lytle Secret Tail Spinner. We caught these fish around an underwater road bed, and a point in depths of 18 feet or less. The surface water temperature is in the lower 70s with the water clarity around 12 inches.

September 4

I guided on Red Willow in the morning and at Medicine Creek (Harry Strunk Lake) in the afternoon. We caught wipers up to 19 inches, white bass up to 14 inches, a few walleyes, largemouth bass, freshwater drum, and a 12-inch crappie. They were caught on a 3/4- and 1-ounce Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner around underwater humps, main lake points, and flats next to deep water in depths of 16 feet or less. The surface water temperature is in the lower 70s.

September 3

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir and my clients and I caught white bass, small wipers, five largemouth bass and a northern pike using a Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner and a medium diver crankbait. These fish were caught around main lake points, underwater humps, road beds, flats, and back in a cove in depths of 10 feet or less. The surface water temperature is in the lower 70s, and the water clarity is muddy with a visibility around six inches or less due to the heavy rain we had this week.
