August 26

My brother Tim and I went fishing at a private sand pit lake in the afternoon. We caught two Master Angler largemouth bass (20.50 and 20 inches),  plus good numbers of smaller bass between 10 and 19 inches. We caught them on a Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner, a Reelbait Flasher Jig with a 3-inch Shad Assassin and a Berkley 3-inch Powerbait minnow around edges of deep weed beds next to points and deep flats.

August 24, 25

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir and my clients and I caught good numbers of wipers, white bass, plus a few walleyes, largemouth bass, northern pike, and freshwater drum. We caught these fish around main lake points, underwater humps, road beds, edges of creek channels, and along the dam area using a 3/4- and 1-ounce Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner, topwater plugs, and a few on spinnerbaits in depths of 22 feet or less. The surface water temperature is in the upper 70s.

August 15

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir and my clients and I caught 11 Master Angler wipers (29", 28" 27", seven at 26", and one 25"), and a Master Angler walleye at 28.50 inches. We also caught smaller wipers, white bass, crappies , freshwater drum, and a smallmouth bass. We caught these fish around underwater humps, underwater road beds, and along the dam areas in depths of 26 feet or less using a Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner, and a Carolina rig with live bait. The surface water temperature is in the upper 70s.

August 13

I took my son Chris and his friend fishing at Red Willow Reservoir. We caught good numbers of wipers up to 21 inches, white bass up to 14 inches, walleyes between 14 and 17 inches, a 13-inch crappie, and a 15-inch largemouth bass. We caught these fish using a Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner around main lake points, underwater humps, underwater road beds, edges of creek channels, and along the dam areas in depths of 26 feet or less. The surface water temperature is in the upper 70s.

August 10-12

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir. My clients and I caught good numbers of wipers up to 22 inches, white bass up to 14 inches, channel catfish up to 26 inches, walleyes up to 24.50 inches, crappies between 10 and 12 inches, northern pike between 20 and 24 inches, a few small freshwater drum, and a 13-inch smallmouth bass. We caught these fish on a Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner, and a Carolina rig using live bait, around main lake points, underwater humps, underwater road beds, and edges of creek channels in depths of 24 feet or less. The surface water temperature is in the lower 80s.

August 7-9

I guided the same clients all three days at Red Willow Reservoir, and we caught two nice Master Angler wipers (30.50" and 29"). My clients and I also caught good numbers of smaller wipers, white bass, channel catfish, walleyes, crappies, freshwater drum and northern pike. We caught these fish on a Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner, and a Carolina rig using live baits around underwater humps, main lake points, edges of creek channels, underwater road beds, and along the dam areas in depths of 24 feet or less. The surface water temperature is in the 80s.

August 6

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir and my clients and I caught three Master Angler fish including two wipers at 24.75 and 24 inches, and a 32-inch channel catfish. We also caught good numbers of smaller wipers up to 22 inches, white bass up to 14 inches, channel catfish up to 27 inches, walleyes, a few smallmouth and largemouth bass, crappies, freshwater drum, and a northern pike. These fish were caught on a Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner, and a Carolina rig using live baits around main lake points, underwater humps, roadbeds, edges of creek channels, and along the dam areas in depths of 25 feet or less.

August 4, 5

I guided the same clients both days at Red Willow Reservoir on Friday and Saturday afternoon, and at Swanson Reservoir on Saturday morning. I caught a nice 28.50-inch Master Angler walleye at Red Willow using a Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner. My clients and I also caught good numbers of white bass up to 14 inches, wipers up to 21 inches, channel catfish up to 27 inches, walleyes, a few nice crappies, and a small northern pike. We caught these fish on a Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner and a Carolina rig using live baits. We fished around main lake points, underwater humps, underwater road beds, and edges of creek channels in depth of 25 feet or less. The surface water temperature on the main lake is in the lower 80s.

August 3

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir, and my clients and I caught good numbers of white bass, wipers, walleyes, channel catfish, and freshwater drum. We caught these fish around underwater humps, road beds, and next to the dam areas in depths of 25 feet or less. They were caught on a Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner, and a Carolina rig using live baits.

August 1, 2

I guided the same clients both days on Red Willow Reservoir and we caught nine Master Angler wipers ( 30", 29", 28.50", three 28", 27", 26.50", and 25"). We also caught smaller wipers up to 22 inches, white bass up to 13 inches, channel catfish up to 28 inches, bluegills, small walleyes, three smallmouth bass between 10 and 12 inches, two small largemouth bass, a few freshwater drum, a crappie, and a small northern pike. These fish were caught on a Carolina rig using live baits, Berkley Gulp!, and a Lytle's Secret Tail Spinner around underwater humps, road beds, and along the dam areas in depths of 26 feet or less. The surface water temperature on the main lake is in the lower 80s.
