September 27, 28, 30

I went fishing at a private sandpit lake in the afternoon for a few hours. I caught largemouth bass between 10 and 16 inches, and few crappies up to 12 inches using Lytle's Secret Lures around points and along the drop off next to the edges of weed beds.

September 26

My brother Tim and I went fishing at a private sandpit lake in the afternoon. We caught good numbers of largemouth bass between 10 and 17 inches, crappies up to 12 inches, and a few bluegill up to 9 inches. We caught these fish around points and flats next to the edges of deep weed beds using my homemade lures and a jig head-4-inch plastic worm combo.

September 25

I guided in the morning at Enders Lake and in the afternoon at Swanson Lake. We caught good numbers of wipers up to 20 inches, white bass up to 14 inches, one 11-inch crappie, and a 9-inch bluegill. We caught these fish on my homemade lures around main lake points, underwater humps, and next to a roadbeds. The water clarity is between 12 to 15 inches with the surface water temperature in the mid 60s.

September 24

I guided on Enders Lake in the morning and at Swanson Lake in the afternoon. We caught wipers between 14 and 23.50 inches, white bass up to 13inches, and one channel catfish around 24 inches using my homemade lures. These fish were caught around underwater humps, main lake points, and next to a roadbeds near deep water. The surface water temperature is in the mid 60s with the water clarity around 12 inches.

September 19

I went fishing at a private sandpit lake for a few hours in the afternoon. I caught one Master Angler largemouth bass at 21.50 inches, and good numbers of smaller largemouth bass between 12 and 17 inches on my homemade lures. They were caught along the drop off next to the edges of the weed beds.

September 18

I guided on Swanson Lake and we caught wipers between 14 and 18 inches, and white bass up to 13 inches using my homemade lures, and dropshot rigs with live shad and a ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag end of the line. These fish were caught next to roadbeds near deep water. The surface water temperature is in the lower 70s with the water clarity around 10 inches.

September 17

I went fishing at Swanson Lake in the afternoon and caught good numbers of wipers between 15 and 19 inches, and white bass up to 13 inches next to roadbeds and points using my homemade lures. The surface water temperature is in the lower 70s and the water clarity is 10 to 12 inches.

September 16

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught wipers up to 22 inches, white bass up to 11 inches, a 15-inch walleye, and a channel catfish weighing about 5 pounds. The fish were caught on my homemade lures, and a dropshot rig with lvie shad and a ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag end of the line. We fished around main lake points and humps. The surface water temperature is in the 70s with the water clarity about three inches.

September 11, 12

My brother Rod and I took my sponsor, Al Patterson of ReelBait Tackle Company, and his friend fishing at Enders Lake, Swanson Lake, Red Willow Lake, and Medicine Creek Lake to fish with our new homemade lures. All these lakes have turned over with poor water visibility between three and six inches. We did manage to catch over 70 wipers and white bass, and one flathead catfish under the tough conditions around main lake points, humps, and next to flats near deep water. The surface water temperature is in the upper 60s.

September 10

I guided on Red Willow and the lake has turned over dues to the high wind we had the last few days. The wind gusted up to 45 mph and made fishing tough today. We did catch white bass up to 11 inches on my homemade lures, and we lost two nice wipers using a Carolina rig with gizzard shad. The surface water temperature dropped from 71 degrees to 67 degrees from the lake turning over and the high wind. The water visibility is about three inches.

September 9

I went fishing at a private sandpit lake in the afternoon for a few hours. I caught good numbers of largemouth bass between 10 and 17 inches using my homemade lures around edges of deep weed beds next to points and flats.

September 7

I went fishing at Red Willow Lake in the afternoon to experiment with my homemade lures. I caught good numbers of smaller wipers and white bass around underwater humps next to the creek channel. The surface water temperature on the main lake is in the lower 70s.

September 6

I went fishing at Red Willow Lake in the afternoon for a few hours. I caught one Master Angler wiper at 27 inches, plus white bass up to 11 inches, and one channel catfish around 5 pounds. I caught these fish on my homemade lures next to a underwater roadbeds and humps. The surface water temperature is in the lower to mid 70s.

September 5

I took my brother Tim and his daughter fishing at Red Willow Lake in the afternoon. We caught good numbers of wipers between 10 and 20 inches, and white bass up to 12 inches using our homemade lures. These fish were caught around underwater humps and next to a roadbeds near deep water. The surface water temperature is in the lower 70s.

September 3

I took a friend fishing in the afternoon for a few hours at Red Willow Lake. We caught good numbers of wipers between 10 and 18 inches, white bass up to 11 inches, a few small walleyes, and a 33-inch flathead catfish. We caught these fish on my homemade lures around underwater humps and a roadbeds next to deep water. The surface water temperature is in the lower 70s.
