May 30

I guided on Medicine Creek Lake (Harry Strunk) and we caught walleyes up to 18 inches, wipers up to 20 inches, and a few crappies and white bass. We caught the fish on crankbaits and a ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig-Cabela's Recoil Grub combo around main lake points. The surface water temperature is in the mid 60s.

May 29

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught wipers up to 18 inches, white bass up to 12 inches, and a few walleye. These fish were caught on dropshot rigs using a shiner, and on medium diver crankbaits around main lake points and humps. The surface water temperature is in the upper 60s.

May 28

My brother Rod and I guided five fishermen on Medicine Creek (Harry Strunk Lake), and we caught two Master Angler fish (28.25-inch walleye, and 31-inch channel catfish). We also caught good numbers of walleye (over 50) between 15 and 21 inches, wipers up to 18 inches, white bass up to 13 inches, drum up to 19 inches, three largemouth bass between 15 and 18 inches, a few crappies up to 13 inches, and a small perch. These fish were caught on a ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig-Cabela's Recoil Grub combo, a Walleye Flasher Jig-Berkley Gulp! Crawler combo, and crankbaits around main lake points. May 27

I guided on Medicine Creek (Harry Strunk Lake) and we caught walleye up to 20 inches, wiper between 15 and 20 inches, fresh water drum up to 18 inches, and a few crappie up to 10 inches. We caught these fish around main lake points using ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig-Cabela's Recoil Grub combo, crankbaits, and jerkbaits. The surface water temperature is in the upper 60s.

May 26

I guided on Swanson Lake in the morning and Red Willow Lake in the afternoon. We caught two Master Angler wipers at 24.50 and 24.25 inches, plus good numbers of smaller wipers, white bass, and one walleye at 24 inches. We caught these fish on a ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig-Cabela's Recoil Grub combo, deep diver crankbaits, and a Strike King 3X Zula around main lake points, humps, and a roadbed next to deep water. May 25

I guided on Swanson Lake and we caught good numbers of wipers between 11 and 18 inches, white bass up to 12 inches, walleyes between 14 and 24 inches, and two channel catfish at 28 and 23 inches. We caught these fish on jerkbaits, crankbaits, ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig-Cabela's Recoil Grub combo, and a dropshot rig using shiners. They were caught around main lake points, humps, a dike along the river channel, and next to a road bed.

May 24

I guided on Swanson lake in the morning and Red Willow Lake in the afternoon. We caught seven Master Angler wipers at 29, 28, 27, 26 (2), and 25 (2) inches, plus smaller wipers between 11 and 23.50 inches, white bass up to 12 inches, walleyes between 14 and 17 inches, and one crappie about 11 inches. These fish were caught on medium and deep diver crankbaits, slow rolling a spinnerbait, a ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig-Cabela's Recoil Grub combo, and a suspending jerkbait. May 23

I took Joe Arterburn (Cabela's - Corporate Communications Manager) and his two son fishing at Swanson Lake, and we caught five Master Angler wipers at 30, 29, 27.50, and 25 (2) inches, plus good numbers of smaller wipers between 10 and 23.50 inches and white bass up to 12 inches. These fish were caught on ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig and Cabela's Recoil Grub Combo, jerkbaits, Strike King 3X Zulas, and live bait around humps and points. May 22

I guided on Swanson Lake in the morning and at Red Willow Lake in the late afternoon with two fly rod fishermen from Colorado. They caught good numbers of wiper up to 18 inches and white bass up to 11 inches. They were using fly that resembled a gizzard shad while fishing around main lake points, humps, and flats next to deep water.

May 20, 21

I guided on Swanson and Red Willow Lake. We caught good numbers of wipers between 11 and 23 inches, walleye between 14 and 22 inches, and white bass up to 12 inches. These fish were caught on a ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig and Cabela's Recoil Grub combo, jerkbaits, medium diver crankbaits, and a Strike King 3X Zula. They were caught around main lake points, humps, and flats next to deep water. The surface temperature is in the 60s.

May 18

I took my brother Rod fishing at Swanson Lake and we caught 27 Master Angler wipers between 24 and 30 inches, plus good numbers of smaller wipers between 13 and 23.50 inches, white bass up to 12 inches, walleyes between 13 and 26 inches, and two channel catfish at 24 and 22 inches. We caught these fish around main lake points, humps, flats next to deep water, and along a road beds using jerkbaits, medium diver crankbaits, topwater plugs, Strike King 3X Zulas, And ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig and Cabela's Recoil Grub combo. May 17

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught wipers between 10 and 22.50 inches, white bass up to 11 inches, and one largemouth bass at 18 inches. We caught these fish on topwater plugs and suspending jerkbaits around main lake points, humps, and back in coves. The largemouth bass was caught on jig and plastic combo next to a brush pile back in a cove. The surface water temperature is in the low 60s.

May 15, 16

I guided the same clients both days at Swanson Lake and a 1/2 day at Red Willow Lake. We caught five Master Angler wipers ( 30", two 29", 27", and 24"), plus smaller wipers, five walleyes ( two 26.50", 24", 22" and 21"), white bass up to 12 inches, and a channel catfish at 26 inches. These fish were caught around main lake points, humps, and next to a road bed. They were caught on jerkbaits, medium diver crankbaits, and Carolina Rigs using shiners. May 14

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught good numbers of walleyes between 13 and 15.50 inches, white bass up to 11 inches, and small wipers. These fish were caught around main lake points and underwater humps on dropshot rigs using shiners and nightcrawlers with a Walleye Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag end of the line, and a Walleye Flasher Jig-Cabela's Recoil Grub combo. The surface water temperature on the main lake is in the low 60s.

May 12

I guided on Red Willow Lake in the afternoon and we caught one Master Angler largemouth bass at 20.50 inches. We also caught good numbers of wipers between 10 and 20 inches, white bass up to 11 inches, a few non-keeper walleye, and a crappie about 10 inches. These fish were caught on suspending jerkbaits, ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig - Cabela's Recoil Grub combo, medium diver crankbaits, and dropshot rigs using shiners with a Walleye Flasher Jig-grub combo on the tag end of the line. May 9

I guided on Swanson Lake in the morning and on Red Willow Lake in the afternoon and we caught four Master Angler wipers ( 28", 27", 26", and 25"). We also caught good numbers of smaller wiper between 10 and 23 inches, white bass between 8 and 12 inches, and walleye between 14 and 17 inches. These fish were caught on jerkbaits, medium diver crankbaits, ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig - Cabela's Recoil Grub Combo, and jigging spoon. They were caught around main lake points and humps. May 8

I guided on Enders Lake and we caught good numbers of crappies between 8 and 13 inches, wipers between 12 and 22 inches, walleye between 13 and 22 inches, white bass up to 12 inches, and smallmouth bass between 9 and 15 inches. They were caught on jerkbaits, medium diver crankbaits, ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig - Cabela' Recoil Grub Combo, and dropshot rigs using minnows, nightcrawlers, Berkley Gulp! Crawler and Minnow Grub with the Walleye Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag end of the line. These fish were caught around main lake points, humps, halfway back in a cove along a weed bed, and along the dam area. The surface water temperature is in the 60s.

May 6

I guided at Swanson Lake in the morning and Red Willow Lake in the late afternoon. We caught three Master Angler fish including two wipers (29" and 24") and one largemouth bass at 21inches. We also caught good numbers of smaller wipers between 10 and 20 inches, white bass up to 11 inches, five walleye (22", 21", 20", 15.25", and 13"), a 13-inche largemouth bass, and one crappies at 11 inches. These fish were caught on suspending jerkbaits, Strike King 3X Zula, Walleye Flasher Jig - Grub combo, and Storm Chug Bug around main lake points, and secondary points in coves. May 5

I guided at Swanson Lake and we caught 15 Master Angler wipers (29", 28.50", 28", two 27", four 26", three 25", and three 24"). We also caught goods numbers of smaller wipers between 12 and 23 inches, and a few white bass. These fish were caught on suspending jerkbaits and a Strike King 3X Zula around points off an island. May 4

I guided the same clients from yesterday on Red Willow Lake and we caught three Master Angler wipers (two 26" and 25"), plus good numbers of smaller wipers between 11 and 18 inches, a few white bass and largemouth bass, a 24-inch northern pike, and a 13-inch walleye. The fish were caught on jerkbaits, Carolina rigs and dropshot rigs using shiners around main lake points, secondary points in coves, and underwater humps. May 3

I guided at Red Willow Lake in the morning and we caught one Master Angler wiper at 26 inches, plus smaller wipers between 12 and 18 inches. We caught these fish on jerkbaits and crankbaits around main lake points. In the afternoon we fished at Swanson Lake and caught 13 Master Angler wipers (three 28", two 27", two 26", four 25", 24.50", and 24"), plus smaller wipers between 12 and 23 inches, a few white bass, and a 14-inch walleye.
