July 31 & August 1
I guided the same clients both days at Swanson
Lake, and we caught two Master Anglers including a 26.50-inch wiper
and a 38-inch flathead catfish. We also caught good numbers of
smaller wipers between 11 and 18 inches, white bass up to 13 inches,
a few walleye up to 25.50 inches, and a channel catfish about 20
inches. These fish were caught around underwater humps, points, and
next to a roadbed using crankbaits, Silver Buddy Bladebait, Homemade
Tailspinners, Lytle's Glitter spoons, and a Carolina rig with live
bait The surface water temperature was in the upper 70s in the
morning and in mid 80s by late afternoon.

July 29
I guided on Swanson Lake and we caught five
Master Angler wipers between 25 and 30 inches, plus smaller wipers
and white bass, and two flathead catfish at 24 and 23 inches. We
caught these fish on a Carolina rig using live bait and deep diving
crankbaits around underwater humps and next to a road bed. The
surface water temperature is in the mid 70s.

July 27
I guided on Swanson Lake in the morning and Red
Willow Lake in the afternoon. We caught one Master Angler wiper at
26 inches, plus smaller wipers, white bass up to 12 inches, few
small walleye , a 20-inch flathead catfish, and a 31-inch northern
pike. These fish were caught on crankbaits, Lytle Glitters spoons,
and Carolina rigs with live bait fished around underwater humps,
main lake points, and next to a road bed near deep water. The
surface water temperature is in the lower 70s.

July 25
I guided on Swanson Lake and we caught one Master
Angler wiper at 26 inches. We also caught smaller wipers between 14
and 20 inches and white bass up to 12 inches. We caught these fish
on a Carolina rig using live bait, Lytle Glitters Spoon, and
crankbaits around underwater humps, points, and next to a road bed.
The water clarity is muddy following heavy rain we had the last few
days. The water temperature has dropped into the lower 70s.

July 24
I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught three
Master Angler fish including two wipers at 27 and 26 inches, and a
32-inch channel catfish. We also caught good numbers of smaller
wipers and white bass, walleye between 15.50 and 25.50 inches, and a
few smaller channel catfish. The fish were caught around underwater
humps next to the creek channel using Lytle Glitter Spoons,
crankbaits, and a Carolina rig with live bait. the surface water
temperature is in the lower 70s.

July 23
I guided on Swanson Lake and we caught 18 Master
Angler wipers between 24 and 28.50 inches, plus smaller wipers,
white bass, and one walleye at 25.50 inches. These fish were caught
on a Carolina rig with live bait, meduim and deep diving crankbaits
around underwater humps and a road beds next to deep water. The
surface water temperature is in the mid 70s.

July 22
I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught six
Master Angler wipers (two at 29", 28", 27",and two at 25.50") and
one Master Angler channel catfish at 30 inches. We also caught good
number of smaller wipers, white bass, and walleye between 14 and
22.50 inches. They were caught around underwater humps and road beds
next to deep water using crankbaits, 1-oz. Lytle Glitters Spoons,
and a Carolina rig with live bait. The surface water temperature is
in the lower 80s.

July 21
I guided on Swanson Lake and we caught eight
Master Angler wipers between 24 and 28 inches. We also caught
smaller wipers, white bass, and two channel catfish. We caught these
fish on Carolina rigs with live bait, 1-oz. Lytle Glitter spoons,
and medium and deep diving crankbaits around underwater humps,
points, and next to a road bed. The surface water temperature is in
the 80s.

July 20
I guided on Swanson Lake in the afternoon and we
caught 18 Master Angler wipers between 25 and 29 inches, plus
smaller wipers between 12 and 23.50 inches and white bass up to 12
inches. We caught these fish on medium and deep diving crankbaits,
jigging spoons, and Carolina rigs with live bait around underwater
humps, points, and next to an underwater road bed. The surface water
temperature is in the mid 80s.

July 19
I guided on Swanson Lake and we caught 10 Master
Angler wipers between 25.50 and 31 inches, plus good numbers of
smaller wipers between 10 and 23.50 inches, white bass up to 12
inches, one walleye at 25.50 inches, and a channel catfish at 22
inches. These fish were caught around underwater humps, points, and
next to an underwater road bed using Carolina rigs with live bait or
a Cabela's Recoil Grub, medium and deep diving crankbaits, 1-oz.
lipless crankbaits, 1-oz. jigging spoons, and Cabela's Livin' Eye
Paddletails. The surface water temperature is in the low 80s.

July 18
My two brothers and I went fishing at a
private sand pit lake, and we caught good numbers of largemouth bass
(over 75) between 10 and 19.50 inches, crappies up to 14
inches, bluegills up to 10 inches, and three walleyes between 15 and
18 inches. We caught these fish on a 1-oz. lipless crankbait, Strike
3X Zulu, Wave worm (Tiki-Stick), Strike King Pro-Model Jig-3X Chuck
combo, ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig-3X Zulu combo, and jig head with
a 4-inch plastic worm attached. The fish were caught around edges of
deep weed beds and brush piles next to points.
July 17
I guided on Swanson Lake and we caught 14 Master
Angler wiper between 24 and 30 inches, and one Master Angler channel
catfish at 35 inches. We also caught good numbers of smaller wipers
between 11 and 23 inches and white bass up to 12 inches. We caught
these fish on a Carolina Rig with live bait, and a Cabela's Recoil
Grub, Cabela's Livin' Eye 4- and 6-inch Paddletails, and a 1-oz.
jigging spoon. The fish were caught around underwater humps, points,
and a roadbed. The surface water temperature is in the 80s.

July 16
I took my brother, Rod, and Monte Madsen (a
former fisheries biologist for Nebraska Game and Parks Commission)
fishing at Swanson Lake, and we caught five Master Angler wipers
between 26.50 and 30 inches, plus good number of smaller wipers and
white bass. We caught these fish around underwater humps, points,
and next to a roadbeds using a Carolina rig with live bait, and
Cabela's Recoil grubs, jigs, lipless crankbaits, a Walleye Flasher
Jig-plastic grub combo, and a homemade tailspinner.

July 15
My brother Rod and I went fishing at Red Willow
lake and we caught two Master Anglers including a walleye (29.50")
and largemouth bass (22.50"), plus we caught five smaller walleye,
wipers between 12 and 18 inches, and a few white bass and freshwater
drum. These fish were caught on a 1-oz. lipless crankbait, deep
diver crankbait, 1-oz. jigging spoon, and a dropshot rig with a
Strike King 3X Zulu and ReelBait 3/4-oz. Walleye Flasher Jig-3X Zulu
combo as a weight on the tag end of the line. The fish were caught
around deep underwater humps, main lake points, and near dam areas
next to the creek channel. The surface water temperature is in the
80s.

July 14
I guided on Swanson Lake and we caught 42 Master
Angler wipers between 24 and 30.50 inches, and two Master Angler
channel catfish at 32 and 30 inches. We also caught smaller wipers
between 15 and 23.75 inches, and a walleye at 15 inches. These fish
were caught on a Cabela's Livin' Eye 4- and 6-inch Paddletail, a
lipless crankbait, and live bait fished around underwater humps,
points, and next to an underwater roadbed. The surface water
temperature is in the upper 70s.

July 13
I went fishing at Red Willow Lake and
caught one Master Wiper at 25 inches, plus smaller wipers, white
bass, crappies, and freshwater drum. They were caught on deep diving
crankbait and 1-ounce jigging spoon around underwater humps and main
lake points next to deep water. The surface water temperature is in
the lower 80s.
July 12
I guided on Swanson Lake and we caught 31 Master
Angler wipers between 24 and 30 inches, plus good numbers of smaller
wiper between 11 and 22.75 inches, white bass up to 13 inches, and
one walleye at 15 inches. These fish were caught around underwater
humps, points, and next to a underwater roadbed. They were caught on
a Carolina rig with live bait, a Cabela's Recoil Grub and a Strike
King 3X Zulu; a Cabela's Livin' Eye 4- and 6-inch Paddletail, and
crankbaits. The surface water temperature is in the upper 70s.

July 11
My brother Tim and I went fishing at a
private sand pit lake and we caught one Master Angler largemouth
bass at 20 inches, plus good numbers of smaller bass between 14 and
18 inches, six walleye between 15 and 27 inches, and a 24-inch
channel catfish. We caught these fish on a Carolina Rig with a
salamander, a jig head and nightcrawler combo, a Strike King Premier
Pro-Model Jig-3X Chunk combo, and a Carolina Rig with a Strike King
3X Crawfish. They were caught next to a deep weed beds near points
and underwater humps.
July 10
I guided on Swanson Lake and we caught nine
Master Angler wipers between 24 and 27.50 inches. We also caught
good numbers of smaller wipers between 10 and 23.50 inches, and
white bass up to 13 inches. These fish were caught on live bait, a
Cabela's Livin Eye 6-inch Paddletail, crankbaits, a ReelBait Walleye
Flasher Jig-Cabela's Recoil Grub combo, and a Carolina Rig using
Cabela's 4-inch Recoil Grub. The fish were caught around underwater
humps, points, and next to a roadbeds. The surface water temperature
is in the upper 70s.

July 9
I guided on Swanson Lake and we caught 28 Master
Angler wipers between 24.50 and 30.50 inches, plus smaller wiper
between 11 and 23.75 inches, and white bass up to 12 inches. These
fish were caught around underwater humps, points, and next to a
roadbeds using live bait, a Cabela's Livin' Eye 4- and 6-inch
Paddletail, and a Strike King 3X Zulu on a Carolina rig. The surface
water temperature is in the mid 70s.

July 8
My brother Rod and I went fishing at a
private sand pit lake for a few hour in the evening. We caught good
numbers of largemouth bass up to 18.50 inches using a Strike King
Premier Pro-Model Jig-3X Chunk combo, a Cabela's Livin' Eye 4-inch
Paddletail, and Wave Tiki-Sticks (soft plastic stick bait). These
bass were caught around points next to deep weed beds.
July 7
I guided on Swanson Lake and we caught 10 Master
Angler wipers between 24 and 30 inches, and one Master Angler
channel catfish at 36 inches. We also caught good numbers of smaller
wipers between 10 and 23.50 inches, white bass up to 12 inches, and
a 21.50-inch walleye. These fish were caught on a Cabela's Rig Saver
Kit using live bait, a Cabela's Livin' Eye 4- and 6-inch Paddletail,
crankbaits, and a Carolina Rig with a Strike King 3X Zulu. The fish
were caught around underwater humps, points, and next to a roadbeds.
The surface water temperature is in the 70s.

July 6
I went fishing at a private sand pit lake for
about a hour and caught largemouth bass up to 19 inches and one
Master Angler smallmouth bass at 20 inches. These fish were caught
on Strike King 3X Z Too around points next to a weed bed.
July 5
I took my son Jeremy fishing at a
private sand pit lake, and we caught good numbers of largemouth bass
between 10 and 18 inches, plus a few crappies up to 15 inches. We
caught them on a dropshot rig with plastic worms, a Strike King 3X
Zulu, a homemade spinnerbait, and a Cabela's Livin" Eye 6-inch
Paddletail. These fish were caught around points next to a deep weed
beds.
July 3
I guided on Swanson Lake and we caught 24 Master
Angler wipers between 24.50 and 29 inches, plus smaller wiper
between 11 and 23.75 inches, and white bass up to 12 inches. These
fish were caught on a Cabela's Rig Saver Kit using live bait, a
Cabela's Livin' Eye 6-inch Paddletail, and a crankbait. They were
caught around underwater humps, points, and next to a roadbed. The
surface water temperature in the 70s.

July 2
I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught one
Master Angler wiper at 24.25 inches, plus smaller wipers, walleye,
and crappies. These fish were caught around underwater humps using a
Cabela's Rig Saver Kit with live shiners. The surface water
temperature is in the lower 70s.

July 1
I guided at Swanson Lake and we caught 13 Master
Angler wipers between 24 and 30 inches, plus good numbers of smaller
wipers between 11 and 23.50 inches and white bass up to 12 inches.
They were caught around underwater humps and points using a Cabela's
Rig Saver Kit with live bait and Cabela's Livin' Eye 6-inch
Paddletail. The surface water temperature is in the upper 60s.
