May 31

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught four Master Angler wipers ( 32", two 28", and 24.50"), plus smaller wipers between 15 and 23 inches, good numbers of walleyes between 12 and 23 inches, crappies and white bass up to 12 inches, largemouth bass up to 15 inches, and a few channel catfish up to 20 inches. These fish were taken on dropshot rigs with shiners and nightcrawlers using a Walleye Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag end of the line, plus crankbaits and topwater plugs. The fish were caught around main lake points and humps.

May 30

May 30 I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught two Master Angler Wipers at 30.50 and 29.50 inches, plus other wipers between 15 and 23 inches, good numbers of walleyes between 12 and 22 inches, white bass and crappies up to 12 inches, largemouth bass up to 16 inches, and one channel catfish at 28 inches. These fish were caught on dropshot rigs using shiners and nightcrawlers with a Walleye Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag end of the line. We also used live bluegills, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, and topwater plugs. The fish were caught around main lake points, humps, near the dam area, and in coves. The surface water temperature is in the lower 70s.

May 25-27

I guided the same group for three days on Red Willow. We caught 19 Master Angler wipers ( 32", 30", three 29", 28.50", three 28", 27", three 26", three 25", two 24.50", and one 24"), plus smaller wipers between 18 and 23.50 inches. We also caught good numbers of walleyes between 12 and 22 inches, white bass and crappies up to 12 inches, one northern pike at 31 inches, and a few largemouth bass and perch. The fish were caught on dropshot rigs using shiners and night crawlers with a walleye flasher jig as a weight on the tag end of the line. Crankbaits, spinnerbaits, soft plastic jerkbaits, and topwater plugs also took fish. We took fish around main lake points, humps, flats near deep water, and in coves. May 24

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught good numbers of walleye between 13 and 23 inches, largemouth bass between 15 and 18.50 inches, and smaller wipers and white bass. We caught the fish on dropshot rigs using shiners and nightcrawlers with ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag end of the line, crankbaits, and soft plastic jerkbaits. We fished around main lake points, humps, and in coves. The surface water temperature is in the mid 60s.

May 23

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught four Master Angler wipers (28.50", 27", and two 26"), plus smaller wipers between 15 and 23 inches. We also caught good numbers of walleyes between 13 and 22 inches and white bass and crappies up to 11 inches. They were caught around main lake points and humps, and coves on the dropshot rig using shiners and nightcrawlers with ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag end of the line, and topwater plugs. May 22

I took my doctor fishing at Red Willow Lake for a few hours in the afternoon. We caught one Master Angler wiper at 28 inches on a spinnerbait. We also caught walleyes between 13 and 25 inches on spinnerbaits, medium diving crankbaits and jerkbaits, largemouth bass between 15 and 19.50 inches on jerkbaits and spinnerbaits. These fish were caught around main lake points fishing along the edges of deep weed beds in depth of 12 feet or less. The main lake surface water temperature is 64 degrees. May 19-21

May 19, 20, and 21 I guided the same group for three days on Red Willow Lake. We caught three Master Angler wipers ( 28", 26", and 25"), plus smaller wipers between 15 and 23.50 inches, good numbers of walleyes between 12 and 24 inches, crappies and white bass up to 12 inches, largemouth bass up to 17 inches, smallmouth bass up to 14 inches, three northern pike between 30 and 32 inches, and one channel catfish about 4 pounds. They were caught on the dropshot rig with shiners and nightcrawlers with a ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag end of the line, and medium diver crankbaits. May 18

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught seven Master Angler wipers (28.50", 28", two 27", 25.50", 25" and 24.50"), one Master Angler northern pike at 40 inches, and one largemouth bass at 21inches. Plus we caught smaller wipers between 12 and 23 inches, white bass up to 12 inches, one northern pike at 32 inches, and one channel catfish about 4 pounds. They were caught around main lake points, flats near deep water, and humps using jerkbaits, soft plastic jerkbaits, and topwater plugs. The surface water temperature is in the low 60s.

May 17

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught good numbers of walleye between 13 and 23.50 inches, crappies up to 13", white bass up to 11", and largemouth bass up to 17". They were caught on the dropshot rig with shiners and nightcrawlers with a ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag end of the line, jerkbaits, and jig-plastic craw combo. These fish were caught along main lake points, underwater humps, flats near the creek channel, and back in coves. The water surface temperature is in the 60s.

May 14

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught one Master Angler largemouth bass at 20.50 inches, plus others up to 18 inches on a Berkley Power Jerk Shad. We also caught walleyes between 12 and 20 inches, and crappies and white bass up to 11 inches. They were caught on jerkbaits, tiny tube jigs, and a dropshot rig with shiners, nightcrawlers, and plastic baits plus a Walleye Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag end of the line. May 13

I took Larry Porter (Omaha World- Herald outdoors editor) and Virgil Gosch ( Nebraska Game and Parks Game Warden) to Enders Lake and we caught good numbers of wipers between 18 and 23 inches, white bass up to 15 inches, walleyes between 15.50 and 24.50 inches, largemouth bass up to 17 inches, smallmouth bass up to 12 inches, one 12-inch crappie, and one 10-inche bluegill. They were caught on jerkbaits, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and dropshot rigs with live shiners and nightcrawlers with a Reel bait Walleye Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag end of the line. We fished along the windy shoreline points, along the dam areas, back in coves, a deep hole near an underwater hump, and along shallow flats. The surface water temperature was in the upper 50s in the morning, and by late afternoon it was in the lower 60s.

May 12

I guided on Enders Lake and we caught wipers up to 20 inches, white bass up to 15 inches, walleye up to 24 inches, and largemouth bass up to 15 inches. They were caught on jerkbaits and a dropshot rig with live shiners and nightcrawlers, plus a ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag end of the line. The surface water temperature was in the upper 50s in the morning, and by late afternoon it was in the low 60s.

May 11

I guided on Enders Lake and we caught four Master Angler wipers (two 24.50", 24.25", and 24"), plus other wipers between 12 and 23 inches, white bass up to 15 inches, largemouth bass up to 15 inches, and one walleye at 18 inches. They were caught along the windy shoreline points and along the dam areas in depth of 25 feet or less. We used suspending jerkbaits, medium diving crankbaits, and dropshot rigs with live shiners and nightcrawlers and a ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag end of the line. May 8, 9

I guided the same clients both days on Red Willow Lake. We caught one Master Angler wiper at 29 inches, plus other wipers up to 23.25 inches, good numbers of walleyes betweens 12 and 20 inches, and white bass up to 11 inches. They were caught on dropshot rigs using live shiners and nightcrawlers with a ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag end of the line, suspending jerkbaits, crankbaits, and my brother's homemade spinnerbaits. May 7

I took my brother, Tim, fishing at a private sand pit in the evening for a few hours and we caught over 30 largemouth bass between 8 and 19 inches. They were caught on suspending jerkbaits and weightless 5-inch Berkley Power Jerk Shad casting along the shoreline cover.

May 6

I took my Doctor and my brother, Rod, fishing in the afternoon at Red Willow Lake. We caught two Master Angler wipers (29" and 24.50") plus smaller wipers, white bass, and largemouth bass, and one 5-pound drum. These fish were caught on jerkbaits, my brother's homemade spinnerbaits, and tailspinners around main lake points and underwater humps in depths of 20 feet or less. The surface water temperature is in the low 60s.

May 5

I went fishing at Red Willow Lake in the late afternoon for a few hours and caught good numbers of white bass, smaller wipers, and largemouth bass up to 18 inches. They were caught around points in coves on a Berkley Frenzy Pro Rattl'r, and on a spinnerbait in the back of coves. The main lake surface water temperature is 60 degrees.

May 3, 4

I went to Cedar Bluff Lake in Kansas to fish a KBAA bass tournament. My partner and I placed 9th on Saturday with five largemouth bass weighing 14.09 pounds. On Sunday we placed 7th with five more bass weighing 11.64 pounds. We caught our fish on jig 'n plastic bait combos worked along lay down trees and standing timber in coves.

May 2

My brother and I went fishing at a private sand pit in the late afternoon and caught over 20 largemouth bass between 10 and 18 inches on jerkbaits and weightless plastic worm (Senko). They were caught in depths of 10 feet or less along shoreline cover.

May 1

I guided on Red Willow Lake, and we caught walleye between 14 and 18 inches, small wipers between 10 and 18 inches, white bass up to 11 inches, one channel catfish weighing approximately five pounds, one northern pike at approximately 26 inches, and one largemouth bass at 15 inches. Most of these fish were caught on a dropshot rigs using live shiners and nightcrawlers with ReelBait Walleye flashers jig as a weight on the tag end of the line. We also caught a few wipers and white bass on jerkbaits. The fish were caught around main lake points and underwater humps in depth of 20 feet or less. The surface water temperature is in the mid 50s.
