June 30
I guided on Red Willow
Lake and we caught three Master Anglers fish including two
largemouth bass at 23 and 21 jinches, and one walleye at 31 inches.
We also caught good numbers of wipers between 10 and 22 inches,
walleyes between 11 and 20 inches, largemouth and smallmouth bass
between 12 and 16 inches, white bass and crappies up to 12 inches,
and one 18-inch channel catfish. We caught these fish around main
lake points and underwater humps on topwater plugs, crankbaits,
Carolina rigs with shiners, and dropshot rigs with shiners, Zoom
Super Fluke Jr., and Berkley Powerbait Bungee Leech using the
ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag end of the line.
The surface water temperature on the main lake is 74 degrees.

June 28, 29
I guided the same person
for two days on Red Willow Lake. We caught six Master Anglers fish
including five wipers (two 28", 26", 25", and 24.25") and one
21-inch largemouth bass. We also caught good numbers of smaller
wipers between 10 and 22.50 inches, walleye between 11 and 24
inches, white bass and crappies up to 11 inches, smallmouth and
largemouth bass between 12 and 16 inches, and one northern pike at
28 inches. Our fish were caught around main lake points and
underwater humps on the dropshot rigs with shiners and Berkley
Powerbait Bungee Leech using a ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig as a
weight on the tag end of the line. We also used Carolina rigs with
shiners, crankbaits, topwater plugs, and slow rolled spinnerbaits.
The surface water temperature is in the mid 70s.

June 27
I guided on Red Willow
Lake and we caught one Master Angler Wiper at 26". We also caught
good numbers of smaller wipers between 10 and 22 inches, white bass
and crappies up to 11 inches, walleyes between 10 and 16 inches,
smallmouth and largemouth bass between 12 and 15 inches, and one
northern pike at 28 inches. They were caught around main lake points
and underwater humps on Carolina rigs using shiners, dropshot rigs
with shiners and Berkley Powerbait Bungee Leech using the Walleye
Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag end of the line, and topwater
plugs. The surface water temperature is in the mid 70s.

June 26
I guided on Red Willow
Lake and we caught one Master Angler Wiper at 24". We are still
catching good numbers of smaller wipers, walleyes, white bass, and
smallmouth bass around underwater humps and main lake points. We
caught fish on crankbaits, dropshot rigs with shiners and Berkley
Powerbait Bungee Leech using a ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig as a
weight on the tag end of the line. We also used Carolina rigs with a
Powerbait Bungee Leech and Shiners.

June 25
I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught
one Master Angler Wiper at 27.50 inches. We also caught good numbers
of smaller wipers between 12 and 22.50 inches, walleyes between 11
and 22 inches, white bass and crappies up to 12 inches, and a
15-inch largemouth bass. These fish were caught on dropshot rigs
with shiners, Berkley Powerbait Bungee Leech, and Zoom Super Fluke
Jr. using a Walleye Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag end of the
line. We also used Carolina rigs with a Powerbait Bungee Leech, and
we slow rolled spinnerbaits. The fish were caught around main lake
points and underwater humps. The surface water temperature is in the
low 70s.

June 22, 23
I guided the same group for two days on Red
Willow Lake and we caught two Master Anglers fish, a 22.50-inch
largemouth bass and a 25.50-inch wiper. We're still catching smaller
wipers, walleyes, white bass, crappies, smallmouth bass, and channel
catfish around main lake points and humps. They were caught on
dropshot rigs with shiners, salamanders, and Berkley Powerbait
Bungee Leech using a Walleye Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag end
of the line. We also slow rolled spinnerbaits and fished with
crankbaits, jigging spoons and topwater plugs. The surface water
temperature is in the low 70s. The lake turned over due to the high
wind on Friday and Saturday reducing the water clarity to 12 to 15
inches.

June 18-21
I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught
three Master Anglers fish (two northern pike
at 38" and 37.50",
and one largemouth bassat 21"). We also caught good numbers of
walleyes between 12 and 23 inches, wipers up to 23.50 inches, other
pike up to 33 inches, white bass and crappies up to 12 inches, other
largemouth bass up to 18 inches, smallmouth bass up to 16 inches,
and channel catfish up to 26 inches. These fish were caught around
main lake points, humps, and flats next to deep water. We caught
fish on dropshot rigs using shiners and Berkley Powerbait Bungee
Leech with a ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag end
of the line. We also slow rolled spinnerbaits. The surface water
temperature is in the lower 70s.

June 16, 17
I guided on Red Willow
Lake and we caught three Master Anglers fish (2 wipers at 26" and
25", and 1 largemouth bass at 20.25"). We also caught good numbers
of wipers up to 22 inches, white bass and crappies up to 12 inches,
walleyes between 12 and 16 inches, largemouth bass up to 17 inches,
smallmouth bass up to 14 inches, and two northern pike at 32 and 29
inches. They were caught on dropshot rigs using shiners,
nightcrawlers, and Berkley Power Bungee Leech with a Walleye Flasher
Jig as a weight on the tag end of the line. We also used jigging
spoons and topwater plugs. The fish were caught around underwater
humps and main lake points next to deep water. The surface water
temperature is in the mid 70s.

June 14
I went to Sebelius Lake
in Kansas to fish a KBAA bass tournament. My parnter and I placed
2nd with five largemouth bass weighting 12.51 pounds. The 1st place
winner had five bass weighting 12.65 pounds. We caught our fish on
Berkley Power Jerk Shad and Zoom Trick Worm rigged wacky style
around standing timber and rocky bottoms near a drop off next to
points.
June 13
I took Matt Vincent
(Editor of Bass Times), his son Jonah, and Ben Breckenridge
(Manager of Willow Springs Marina) fishing at Red Willow. We caught
good numbers of wipers up to 23.25 inches, white bass up to 12
inches, walleyes up to 21 inches, a Master Angler drum at 26 inches,
plus largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, crappies, and perch. They
were caught on dropshot rigs using shiners, leeches, and plastic
baits using a ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag
end of the line, and topwater plugs. These fish were caught around
main lake points, humps, and mouth of a cove. The surface water
temperature is in the low 70s.

June 9-11
I guided the same group
for three days on Red Willow Lake and we caught 10 Master Anglers
fish including nine wipers (29.50", 29", 28", 27", 26", 25", 24.50",
and two 24"), and one 31-inch channel catfish. We also caught good
numbers of smaller wipers up to 23.50 inches, walleyes between 12
and 22 inches, white bass up to 12 inches, channel catfish up to 5
pounds, and one smallmouth bass at 14 inches. They were caught
around main lake points and humps on the dropshot rigs with shiners,
crawlers, plastic baits using a ReelBait Walleye flasher jig as a
weight on the tag end of the line, Carolina rigs using bluegills and
shiners, crankbaits, and topwater plugs. The surface water
temperature is in the lower 70s.

June 6-8
I guided on Red Willow
Lake and we caught three Master Angler Wipers (31.50", 26.50", and
25"), plus other wipers between 12 and 23 inches, good numbers of
walleyes up to 24 inches, white bass and crappies up to 12 inches,
one northern pike at 28 inches, and smallmouth and largemouth bass
up to 16 inches. They were caught on dropshot rigs using shiners,
nightcrawlers, and small plastic baits with a ReelBait Walleye
Flasher Jig as a weight on the tag end of the line. We also caught
fish on crankbaits, spinnerbaits, topwater plugs, and soft plastic
jerkbaits. The fish were taken around underwater humps, main lake
points, dam areas and flats next to deep water. The surface water
temperature is in the upper 60s.

June 2, 3
I guided on Red Willow Lake. We're still
catching good numbers of walleye up to 22 inches, wipers up to 23
inches, white bass and crappies up to 12 inches, largemouth bass up
to 17 inches, a few catfish up to 20 inches, and one northern pike
at 30 inches. They were caught on dropshot rigs using nightcrawlers,
shiners, and plastic baits with a ReelBait Walleye Flasher Jig as a
weight on the tag end of the line, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and
topwater plugs. These fish were taken around main lake points,
humps, flats next to deep water, and in coves. The surface water
temperature is in the low 70s.
June 1
I guided on Red Willow
Lake and we caught three Master Angler Wipers ( 29.50", 27", and
26"), plus smaller wipers, good numbers of walleyes up to 23 inches,
white bass, and largemouth bass. These fish were taken on dropshot
rig using shiners and nightcrawlers, crankbaits, and topwater plugs.
They were caught around main lake points, humps, and flats next to
deep water. The surface water temperature is in the lower 70s.
