August 29, 30

I guided on Red Willow lake and we caught wipers up to 23.50 inches, white bass up to 13 inches, channel catfish up to 26 inches, and a few walleye and largemouth bass. They were caught arnd main lake points and humps next to deep water using dropshot rigs and Carolina rigs with gizzard shad, jigging spoons, and lipless crankbaits. The surface water temperature is in the upper 70s, and the water clarity is about 6 to 8 inches.

August 28

I guided on Red willow Lake and we caught five Master Anglers wipers at 27, 26.50, 26, 25.50 and 25 inches. We also caught good numbers of smaller wipers between 12 and 23 inches, white bass up to 13 inches, channel catfish up to 25 inches, and one small walleye. They were caught around underwater humps and the ends of main lake points using dropshot rigs and the Carolina rigs with gizzard shad, jigging spoon, and lipless crankbaits. August 24

My brother and I went fishing at a private sandpit and caught good numbers of largemouth bass between 12 and 19 inches, including a Master Angler bass that measured  23 inches. We also caught a Master Angler channel catfish at 33 inches. These fish were caught on a Carolina rig with salamanders and shiners, dropshot rigs with plastic worms, and one-ounce. lipless crankbaits.

August 22, 23

I went fishing at Red Willow Lake for a few hours in the late afternoon. I'm still catching good numbers of wipers, white bass, and channel catfish using gizzard shad on a dropshot rig, jigging spoon, one-ounce lipless crankbaits, and deep diving crankbaits. The fish were caught around the ends of main lake points and underwater humps. The surface water temperature is in the upper 70s.

August 21

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught four Master Anglers (one wiper at 27", two wipers at 24", and one largemouth bass at 22"). We also caught good numbers of smaller wipers between 10 and 23 inches and white bass up to 13 inches, channel catfish up to 26 inches, four walleye, and one northern pike at 26 inches. These fish were caught around underwater humps and main lake points using dropshot rigs and Carolina rigs with gizzard shad, lipless crankbaits, deep diving crankbaits, jigging spoons, and topwater plugs. August 15, 16

I guided the same group both days and we caught 11 Master Angler wipers (four 26", six 25", and one 24"). We also caught good numbers of wipers between 12 and 23.75 inches, white bass up to 13 inches, walleye up to 19 inches, and channel catfish up to 27.50". These fish were caught around underwater humps using dropshot rigs and Carolina rigs with gizzard shad and shiners, jigging spoons, and lipless crankbaits. August 14

I went fishing at Red Willow Lake in the late afternoon and caught one Master Angler largemouth bass at 22 inches on a tube bait. I also caught good numbers of wipers up to 22 inches and white bass up to 13 inches around main lakes points and underwater humps. August 13

I took some friends fishing at Red Willow Lake and we caught four Master Angler wipers (32.50", 25.50", 25" and 24"). We also caught good numbers of smaller wipers between 10 and 22 inches, white bass up to 13 inches, and three channel catfish between four and five pounds. We caught these fish around underwater humps using the dropshot rigs with gizzard shad, jigging spoons, one-ounce lipless crankbaits, and topwater plugs. August 12

August 9-11

I went fishing at Red Willow Lake late in the afternoon on August 9 and caught one Master Angler wiper at 29 inches. I also caught good number of smaller wipers and white bass on jigging spoons and lipless crankbaits around underwater humps. On August 10 and 11 I guided the same group and we caught six Master Angler wipers (two 26", two 25.50", 25", and 24.50"), plus a 36-inch flathead catfish. We also caught good numbers of smaller wipers between 12 and 23 inches, whites bass up to 13 inches, channel catfish up to 26 inches, and a few crappies up to 12 inches. These fish were caught around underwater humps using dropshot rigs with shiners and gizzard shad, jigging spoons, and lipless crankbaits. August 7

August 6

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught 11 Master Angler wipers (28", 26.50", 26", three 25.50", two 25", two 24.50", and 24"). We also caught good numbers of smaller wipers between 11 and 23.50 inches, white bass up to 13 inches, and a few crappies, channel catfish, and walleye. These fish were caught on the dropshot rigs using shiners and gizzard shad, jigging spoons, one-ounce lipless and deep diving crankbaits, and slow rolled 1.50-ounce spinnerbaits fished around underwater humps. August 5

August 3
