July 30, 31

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught good numbers of wipers between 11 and 23 inches, white bass up to 12 inches, crappies up to 12 inches, and one Master Angler largemouth bass measuring 21.75 inches. These fish were caught on dropshot rigs using plastic baits, shiners, and gizzard shad, plus jigging spoons and Cabela's Livin' Eye 6" paddletail. The big bass took a deep diving crankbait. All the fish were caught around main lake points, underwater humps, and along the creek channel where it swings next to the shoreline in depths of 18 to 25 feet.

July 29

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught good numbers of  wipers between 11 to 23 inches including one Master Angler (27"), white bass up to 12 inches, crappies up to 12 inches, channel catfish between 12 and 29 inches, and one small walleye (14.50"). These fish were caught around main lake points and underwater humps in depths of 18 to 25 feet. We caught them on dropshot rigs using gizzard shad and small plastic baits, the 27-inch wiper came on a Cabela's Livin' eye 6" paddletail. The surface water temperature is in the upper 70s.

July 27, 28

I guided the same clients both days on Red Willow Lake. We caught nine Master Angler fish including seven (30", two at 29", 28", 26.50", 24.50", and 24"), one walleye (28.50"), and one channel catfish (30"). We caught additional wipers between 14 and 23.50 inches, white bass up to 13 inches, crappies up to 12 inches, channel catfish between 12 and 29 inches, two northern pike (33" and 28"), and a 15-inch walleye. The fish were caught around main lake points, underwater humps, and along the dam areas in depths of 25 feet or less on dropshot rigs using shiners, gizzard shad, and plastic baits, and Cabela's Livin' eye 6-inch paddletails.

July 26

I guided on Red Willow Lake. We we caught two Master Angler fish including one walleye (29") and one channel catfish (33"), plus wipers between 14 and 23.50 inches, channel catfish between 12 and 28 inches, white bass up to 12 inches, crappies up to 12 inches, walleye up to 15.50 inches, and one northern pike at 34 inches. These fish were were caught on dropshot rigs using shiners, gizzard shad, and small plastic baits. They were caught around main lake points and underwater humps in depths of 25 feet or less.

July 24, 25

I guided the same clients both days on Red Willow Lake. We caught five Master Angler fish including three wipers (26.50", 24.50", and 24"), one walleye (30"), and one channel catfish (31"). We caught additional wipers between 16 and 23.50 inches, white bass up to 12 inches, channel catfish between 12 and 26 inches, crappies up to 12 inches, and one smallmouth bass at 17 inches. These fish were caught on dropshot rigs using gizzard shad, bluegills and small plastic baits, and on crankbaits, and  homemade spinnerbaits around main lake points, underwater humps, and near the dam areas in depths of 25 feet or less.

July 22, 23

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught wipers between 14 and 29 inches, white bass up to 12 inches, largemouth bass between 12 and 19 inches, crappies up to 13.50 inches, channel catfish up to 26 inches, walleye between 15 and 22 inches, and one northern pike at 32 inches. They were caught on dropshot rigs using shiners, gizzard shads, and small plastic baits, homemade spinnerbaits, and crankbaits around underwater humps, main lake points, and near the dam areas in depths of 24 feet or less. The surface water temperature is in the upper 70s.

July 21

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught one Master Angler wiper at 27n inches, plus smaller wipers, white bass up to 12 inches, largemouth bass between 12 and 16 inches, channel catfish between 14 and 25 inches, crappies up to 11 inches, and one walleye at 15.50 inches. They were caught around main lake points and underwater humps in depth of 25 feet or less. We caught them on dropshot rigs using gizzard shad and shiners.

July 20

I went to Keith Sebelius Lake in Kansas to fish a Jackpot Buddy Bass tournament. My fishing partner and I placed 4th with five largemouth bass weighing a little under 13 pounds. We caught them on jig 'n plastic trailer combos, Texas-rigged plastic baits, crankbaits, and buzzbaits worked around laydown trees and standing timber near main lake points, shallow water humps, and along the creek channels edges.

July 19

My clients had to cancel due to foot surgery, so I went largemouth bass fishing at Red Willow Lake. I  caught good numbers between 14 and 19 inches, including one Master Angler at 20.25 inches. I also caught five smallmouth bass between 10 and 15 inches, good numbers of crappies up to 13 inches, and one walleye at 15.25 inches. These fish were caught on a jig and plastic combo, plastic jerkbait, crankbait, and a dropshot rig with plastic baits. They were caught around main lake points with underwater stumps, secondary points in coves with bushpiles, and main lake rocky points and bluffs near the creek channel. The surface water temperature is in the low 80s.

July 18

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught one Master Angler wiper at 28 inches, plus additional wipers between 12 and 22 inches, good numbers of white bass up to 13 inches, channel catfish up to 24 inches, largemouth bass up to 16 inches, and one smallmouth bass at 12 inches. They were caught on gizzard shad, shiners, and dropshot rigs with small plastic baits around main lake points and underwater humps in depths of 25 feet or less. The surface water temperature is about 80 degrees.

July 17

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught good numbers of white bass up to 12 inches, wipers up to 21 inches, channel catfish up to 29.50 inches, and one northern pike around 32 inches. They were caught around underwater humps in depth of 28 feet or less on gizzard shad, shiners, jigging spoons, and the dropshot rigs with small plastic baits.

July 16

My brother and I guided five clients at Red Willow Lake. We caught two Master Angler wipers (26" and 24.50"), plus other wipers between 20 and 23 inches, good numbers of white bass up to 12 inches, catfish up to 26 inches, crappies up to 12 inches, and one largemouth bass at 16 inches. These fish were caught around main lake points, underwater humps, and next to the dam areas using shiners, bluegills, homemade spinnerbaits, and dropshot rigs with small plastic baits in depth of 25 feet or less. The surface water temperature is about 77 degrees.

July 14, 15

I guided the same clients both days on Red Willow Lake. We caught four Master Angler fish (2 wipers at 27 and 25", and 2 channel catfish at 32.50" and 31". We caught additional wipers between 12 and 23 inches, channel catfish between 15 and 29 inches, walleye between 13 and 17 inches , largemouth bass up to 19 inches, white bass up to 13 inches, and crappies up to 12 inches. The fish were caught around main lake points, humps, and along the dam areas in depth of 25 feet or less on gizzard shad, bluegills, dropshots rigs with small plastic baits, jigging spoons, and 1 oz. homemade spinnerbaits. The surface water temperature is in the upper 70s.

July 11

Today I guided tat Enders Reservoir with the same clients I fished with the previous two days. We caught wipers between 20 and 22 inches and one Master Angler wiper at 25 inches. We also caught white bass between 11 and 14 inches. The fish were caught around main lake points, underwater humps, and suspended over deep water in depths of 32 feet or less using shiners, jigging spoons, and topwater plugs.

Late in the afternoon we fished at Red Willow and caught smaller wipers and channel catfish on gizzard shad and the homemade spinnerbaits in depth of 25 feet or less around humps and main lake points.

July 9, 10

I guided the same clients both days on Red Willow Lake. We caught 11 Master Angler fish (6 wipers including two 30", 27", two 25", and 24.50"), two northern pike at 38" and 37", two channel catfish at 30.50" and 30", and one largemouth bass at 21.50". We caught additional wipers between 16 and 23 inches, white bass up to 12 inches, crappies up to 12 inches, channel catfish between 14 and 29 inches, and walleyes between 12 and 15 inches. These fish were caught on gizzard shad, shiners, dropshots rigs with small plastic baits, and homemade spinnerbaits around main lake points, underwater humps, and along the dam areas in depth of 30 feet or less. The surface water temperature is in the upper 70s.

July 8

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught two Master Angler wipers (24.50" and 24"), plus smaller wipers, walleyes, white bass, catfish, and crappies. The fish were caught around underwater humps, main lake points, and along the dam areas using shiners, gizzard shads, homemade spinnerbaits, and dropshot rigs with small plastic baits in depths of 25 feet or less.

July 7

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught two Master Angler wipers (27" and 24.50") plus additional wipers between 16 and 22.50 inches, good numbers of white bass up to 13 inches, channel catfish up to 24 inches, and one small walleye (15"). These fish were caught on shiners, gizzard shad, homemade spinnerbaits, dropshots rigs with small plastic baits, and jigging spoons. They were caught in depths of 25 feet or less around main lake points, and underwater humps. The surface water temperature is around 77 degrees.

July 6

I took a friend largemouth bass fishing at Red Willow Lake. I caught two Master Angler bass (21.50" and 21"), plus we caught othersthat measured between 17 and 19.50 inches. They were caught on live salamanders around main lake points in depth of 15 feet or less. We also caught good numbers of white bass up to 13 inches on a homemade spinnerbaits around main lake points in depths of 10 to 20 feet.

July 5

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught one Master Angler wiper (29") plus additional smaller wipers up to  18 inches, good numbers of white bass up to 13 inches, crappies up to 12 inches, one northern pike at 31 inches, largemouth bass up to 16 inches, and one channel catfish about 25 inches. The fish were caught around main lake points, underwater humps, and along the dam areas in depth of 25 feet or less. These fish were caught on shiners, gizzard shads, dropshot rigs with small plastic baits, and homemade spinnerbaits. The surface water temperature is around 77 degrees.

July 3

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught two Master Angler channel catfish (33.50" and 30.50"), plus we caught additional catfish up to 29 inches, walleye between 10 and 17 inches, white bass up to 12 inches, crappies up to 12 inches, wipers up to 18 inches and one nothern pike about 30 inches. These fish were caught on dropshot rigs with a 3-inch Berkley Power Minnow, shiners, bluegills, crankbaits, and homemade spinnerbaits around main lake points, underwater humps, and along the dam areas in depths of 25 feet or less. The surface water temperature is still in the upper 70s. The lake level has dropped approximately three feet in the last 10 days.

July 2

I guided on Red Willow Lake and we caught twelve Master Angler fish including 10 wipers (29.50", 29", 28", 26.50", 26", 25.50", 25",  24.50", and 2 at 24"), one flathead catfish (46"), and one channel catfish (30.25"). We caught additional wipers between 14 and 20 inches, white bass up to 13 inches, walleye between 13 ad 26 inches, largemouth bass up to 17 inches, and channel catfish up to 25 inches. They were caught around underwater humps and main lake points in depths of 20 feet or less. These fish were caught on gizzard shad, bluegills, crankbaits, and slow rolling a homemade spinnerbait. The main lake surface water temperature is in the upper 70s.
