July 21 and 22, 2010

I guided the same clients both days on Red Willow Reservoir. We caught good numbers of white bass up to 14 inches, wipers up to 23 inches, largemouth bass up to 20 inches, walleyes up to 22 inches, northern pike up to 34 inches, crappies up to 13 inches, plus a few channel catfish, freshwater drums, and a nice bluegill. They were caught around main lake points, underwater humps, islands, road beds, edges of creek channels, flats next to deep water, and near the dam areas in depths of 20 feet or less using a Carolina Rig with shiners and gizzard shad, Lytle’s Secret Tail Spinner, 3 and 5″ ProMinnow Swimbaits, Flutter Spoons, and a deep diving crankbait.
