I fished at two different private sand pit lakes in the mid-afternoon. I caught three Master Angler Fish including a 37-inch flathead catfish, a 15 ¼-inch crappie, and a 14 ½-inch yellow perch. I also caught smaller crappies between 9 and 14 inches, yellow perch up to 12 ¾ inches, largemouth bass up to 15 inches, and bluegills up to 9 inches. These fish were caught on a flutter spoon, 1/16-oz. Marabou Jigs, and 1/4-, 1/2-, and 3/4-oz. Silver Buddy bladebaits around deep points, edges of deep flats, underwater brush piles, and deep weed beds in depths of 28 feet or less. The water clarity in these two sand pit lakes is very clear with a visibility of 8 feet or more.
