July 10 and 11, 2010

I guided on both days at Red Willow Reservoir. My clients and I caught good numbers of white bass up to 14 inches, wipers up to 23 inches, walleyes up to 27 inches, northern pikes up to 34 inches, largemouth bass up to 18 inches, crappies up to 13 inches, and a few channel catfish, bluegills, and freshwater drums. We caught these fish around main lake points, underwater humps, islands, edges of creek channels, edges of flats next to deep water, and near the dam areas in depths of 18 feet or less. They were caught on a Carolina Rigs with shiners, Lytle’s Secret Tail Spinners, ReelBait Flasher Jig with shiners, crankbaits, 3 and 5″ ProMinnow Swimbaits, 5″ Flutter Spoon, and a bladebait.  The surface water temperature was in the mid to upper 70s.
