I took a friend fishing on July 8 and fished by myself in the afternoon on July 9 at Red Willow Reservoir. My friend and I caught good numbers of white bass, wipers, walleyes, a few crappies, northern pike, largemouth bass, and a flathead catfish. We caught these fish on a Carolina Rig with shiners, topwater plugs, crankbaits, 3 and 5″ ProMinnow Swimbaits, Lytle’s Secret Tail Spinners, jigs, and flutter spoons around main lake humps, road beds, edges of creek channels, flats next to deep water, main lake points, and near the dam areas in depths of 18 feet or less.
