I fished at two different private sand pit lakes in the afternoon. I caught a Master Angler 17 ½-inch crappie, plus good numbers of smaller crappies between 9 and 14 inches. I also caught good numbers of largemouth bass up 19 inches, bluegills up to 9 inches, and a 12-inch yellow perch. I caught these fish on a flutter spoon, jig and plastic craw, drop shot rig using 4-inch plastic worms, and a 1/32-oz. white jig around underwater brush piles, deep points, and edges of weed beds in depths of 25 feet or less. The water clarity in these two sand pits lakes is very clear.
