I guided on Red Willow Reservoir and one my client caught two Master Angler wiper at 25 1/2 and 24 1/4 inches. My clients and I also caught good numbers of smaller wipers between 15 and 23 inches, white bass up to 14 inches, largemouth bass up to 18 inches, northern pike up to 30 inches, channel catfish up to 26 inches, a few nice crappies, walleyes, a smallmouth bass, and a bluegill. We caught these fish on a Carolina Rig using shiners, 3.5 and 5″ ProMinnow Swimbaits, Lytle’s Secret Tail Spinners, deep diving crankbaits, and a 5″ Flutter Spoon around underwater humps, road beds, edges of creek channels, edges of flats next to deep water, and near the dam areas in depths of 18 feet or less. The surface water temperature was in the upper 70s.
