I guided on Red Willow Reservoir and caught a Master Angler wiper at 27 inches. My clients and I also caught good numbers of wipers between 14 and 23 ½ inches, white bass up to 14 ½ inches, a few freshwater drum, a small walleye, and channel catfish. We caught these fish on a Carolina Rig using gizzard shad, 1-oz. Lytle’s Secret tailspinners, 1-oz. homemade jigging spoon, flutter spoons, and a ¾-oz. Silver Buddy Bladebait around main lake points, underwater humps, underwater road beds, and near the dam areas in depths of 28 feet or less. The surface water temperature is averaging around 70 degrees.
