I guided the same clients on both days at Red Willow Reservoir, and a 1/2 day on Swanson Reservoir. We caught two Master Angler fish including a 37 1/2 inch northern pike and a 33 inch channel catfish. We also caught wipers up to 23 inches, white bass up to 14 inches, walleyes up to 26 inches, a few northern pike, crappies, and largemouth bass. These fish were caught on a Carolina Rig with shiners, 3.5 and 5″ ProMinnow Swimbaits, Lytle’s Secret Tail Spinner, 5″ Flutter Spoon, and a lipless crankbait around underwater road beds, edges of a creek channels, edges of flats next to deep water, and underwater humps. The surface water temperature is in the lower 70s in the morning and in the mid 70s by late afternoon.
