I guided on Red Willow Reservoir all three days. Two of my clients caught a Master Angler catfish including a flathead at 40 inches and a channel at 30 inches. My clients and I also caught good numbers of wipers between 14 and 22 inches, white bass up to 14 inches, channel catfish between 15 and 29 inches, seven small walleyes, and a few freshwater drum. We caught these fish around main lake points, underwater humps, edges of creek channels, underwater road beds, and near the dam areas in depths of 26 feet or less. They were caught a Carolina Rig with gizzard shad, 3-, 4-, and 5-inch flutter spoons, 1 oz. jigging spoons, and Lytle’s Secret tailspinners. The surface water temperature is averaging around 70 degrees.
