June 17 and 18, 2010

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir on both days and my clients and I caught five Master Angler fish including four wipers at 31 1/2, 30, 28, and 24 inches, and a 32 inch channel catfish. We also caught good numbers of smaller wipers between 15 and 23 1/2 inches, white bass up to 14 inches, channel catfish up to 26 inches, walleyes up to 18 inches, and a few northern pike and largemouth bass. These fish were caught on a Lytle’s Secret Tail Spinner, 3.5 and 5″ ProMinnow Swimbaits, 5″ Flutter Spoons, and a Carolina Rig with shiners around main lake points, islands, underwater humps, road beds, edges of creek channels, and edges of flats next to deep water in depths of 20 feet or less. The surface water temperature is in the lower 70s.
