December 28 and 29, 2009

My friends and I went ice fishing at Swanson Reservoir on both days. We caught good numbers of wipers up to 23 inches, white bass up to 16 inches, walleyes between 16 and 19 inches, two yellow perch between 12 and 13 inches, few crappies up to 13 inches, and few channel catfish. We caught these fish along a ridge next to the creek channel near the dam areas in depths of 34 feet or less using Lytle’s Secret Tailspinners, jigging spoons, and jigging Rapalas. The ice thickness is averaging around 9 inches.
