I took a friend fishing at Swanson Reservoir on Dec. 21, and at Red Willow Reservoir on Dec.22. We caught good numbers of white bass up to 16 inches, wipers up to 23 inches, channel catfish up to 8 lbs., and three walleyes between 17 and 19 inches. We caught these fish on Lytle’s Secret Tailspinners and small jigging spoons along a ridge next to a river channel and between main lake points and an island in depths of 32 feet or less. The ice thickness is averaging around 8 inches.
