July 24-26, 2010

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir all three days. My clients and I are catching good numbers of white bass, wipers, crappies, walleyes, northern pike, a few nice largemouth bass, channel and flathead catfish, freshwater drums, and bluegills. We caught these fish on a Carolina Rig using shiners and gizzard shad, Lytle’s Secret Tail Spinners, 5″ Flutter Spoon, 3 and 5″ ProMinnow Swimbaits, deep diving crankbaits, and Silver Buddy Bladebaits around main lake points, islands, underwater humps, road beds, edges of creek channels, flats next to deep water, and near the dam areas in depths of 20 feet or less. The surface water temperature is in the upper 70s.
